telepark: The Week of Feb 15 to 19
Dear reader, in a nutshell...
A major editor update to support Chrome and Safari browsers and the redesign of the new 1-click Update feature. Downloads and uploads are a thing of the past. We also fixed some bugs, so this makes it a real must-have update and we encourage you to get it. If you have telepark.wiki version 2.4.36 or later, you can use the old 1-click update: see the Main tab in your Wiki settings and make sure you enter the correct FTP target directory. If not, download telepark.wiki here.
One username, one password, one click: telepark.cms links-up with the world's biggest social network Facebook and now supports „Facebook Connect“. Facebook users can login directly to telepark.cms Websites such as http://www.telepark.com when they have an account with the same email address in the cms. Our telepark.wiki customers will be first to enjoy this new service to access protected download pages.
This week's SoCa (surprise-our-customer afternoon) was fun. Ever wanted to create your own backgammon or online poker game or a chat page? Tricky, as you have to sync two or more players visiting the same Web page (which becomes local as soon as your browser renders it), connect them in some way and maintain a state between the two. Working with the telepark.wiki API, we started to abstract all this into a couple of lines of code. The result? We played a 2-player interactive Tic Tac Toe on a telepark.wiki page.
Some of you may remember CityDesk, the end-of-life web publishing application by Fog Creek Software. I know it's a "dead" product but I must admit that last Friday, I chose CityDesk again to quickly create a HTML newsletter generator. Some HTML/CSS styling, five script commands and done it was. Such a clean, powerful and flexible product concept, what a shame! Download CityDesk Starter Edition here and grab our free goodie of the week, our newsletter template for CityDesk. Open it in CityDesk, click on Preview and it will generate the HTML page for your email newsletter. Right-click in your browser to access the HTML source code and email it using our telepark.contact CRM and newsletter tool.
Hmm, "CityDesk" as a telepark.wiki App? That could be interesting...
